As a strategist I focus on strategic objectives at corporate level and work with teams on the ground to formulate initiatives that will enable us to reach our target over a period of time. A planner job is more to with scheduling.

A Strategist would have clear defined steps for execution based on where the company is standing as opposed to a planner which provides various scenarios and options available for management to review, analyse and decide.

Strategist is to build the objective base of the type, the size of the business, also create concept for deliverable to achieve the objective. Planner is to create a plan base of the input from the strategy & concepts to achieve the objective. The different between Strategist and planner will the "Strategist" is the begin of a business before event the planning started to take place. The "Planner" is to carrying the actions from the strategy plan and move toward objective achievement.
