I have no experience in Advertising at all. What are the simple ways I can use to market my home-made products?

it is obvious no customer no business period. so we are left to thing how do we attract the customers and in this case one has no experience in advertising.

to start with that is a cool place because it does not need advert pros to make significant impacts in your marketing. i here by list some techniques you can employ

1)Word of mouth always work; this is in the sense that when a customer is happy and satisfied with your product, there is a natural human tendency that they are likely to share this experience with people in their circle of trust and influence and in that your product ill have gained a ground to market itself

2)Offer discounts and deals:this is another creative and low cost way to attract more customers to your products

3)Social media;like facebook is a top place where your potential customers hang out just take a cool picture of the product and post it .your friends on social media can share or tweet about your product and this allows you to easily engage with them

4)print and distribute flyers with information about the product and contact details, some people who get the flyers might call

5)Get involved in volunteer work this is because customers like supporting business that give bck to the society in some way. in this method make sure that the donations you make are done in the name of your product

your question is short by the answer is way too long and full of details, selling products from home or from a company or factory leads to commercial and marketing plus the strategy to launch the product,

it is a business development issue in a way or another it is a company startup (small or big organization),

in my opinion the following steps and measures should be taken into your whole start up plan:

- understand you current situation by building a SWOT analysis, you should determine your weak and strong points

- you should fully understand your product (like the palm of your hand, details, specs, USP's)

- set plan to define your targeted audience & set plan for targeted markets to create a clear picture who you are going to be or who your company gonna represent

- then you should create an audience survey form in addition to a persona template to fully understand the needs of users plus what your product can offer to them or solve for them

- then as one of the most important moves that you should fully accomplish to get ready with the perfect BENCHMARK, benchmark homework is fatal and is a one of the key success factors to a successful product launch

- you should be ready to tell and inform your audience what they should really gain from choosing your product instead of the competition

now we will move to customer building or audience building:

- good reputation of your work or company, credibility and integrity are main factors to start this process

- then you should have a clear strategy how to establish audience loyalty (for long term continuity and long term business relations that will generate profitability)

- then u should work carefully on your unique value proposition (this is why they will listen to you, asking why they should listen or give me attention on my product?)

- then work carefully on your mission statement and cause

- be able to provide help for consumers in every possible way

- be ready to give more than you can receive at first (set plan for giveaways, free items, free bonuses), customers are all that matter in your case yes its all about them.

- then you should set plan to work on customer reviews (very important, social media posts are valuable, use online indicators to show consumers a SHOWCASE RESULT, around 80% of buyers look at them

- be able to build strong PR, building real relationships because you will never know the customer of your life will appear

- get to know well about your customers, find fun ways to make them feels special (VIP, class A) plus the value that could bring to your business 

- your website design should be professional, great design and attractive catching eye, investing on your website will make you attract users to form an opinion about your business in the first 5 to 10 seconds

- try to work on a special social proof, usually consumers trust peer recommendations, as they speak about the product 

- then be able to set up strong email marketing to build the audience, repeating email marketing will help you increase trust among users or consumers over the time, plus will help you to interact consistently with them over time.

I feel best way is to target on your social media like facebook & Twitter, where you have all your freinds and relatives, just showcase your home-made products and insist all in your cirlce to like and comment on your products, within a small time you will have a big advertising and also you will feel the results on your sales.

The most important thing is to make sure the product quality can compete in the market

1- You must advertise the brand if the product is new
