Truly, it is not in any way a  thankless job, rather a place to show / prove your competency. In administration you have rooms to show your creativity and improvement in the administrative activities/ functions. Besides, if you show your helping attitude in day to day affairs, people will certainly remember you and will receive thanks from others. Remember,there are many successful stories in the field of administration and it is a enjoyable place to work.
