What is the different between procurement and purchasing?

Procurement is a complete process that needs high skills, modern tools and technics, documentation, analytics, etc. for obtaining the goods or services from the supplier from End to End in professional approach; where as purchasing is the old ways of acquiring goods and services on transational basis.

In a word, Procurement is combination of sourcing, selection of products, services & vendors, negotiation of prices, terms & contracts where Purchasing is a combination of ordering process, payments & delivery of the goods be ordered.
