They are separate but related fields.Good marketing makes Sales much easier - poor marketing creates a harder enivronment to sell. Ideally you'll have great Marketing and great Sales. They go hand in hand.

Yeah I think so, because without marketing the ability to market and convince the customer of the product whatever the profit and progress of the enterprise is not realized. So marketing is an important factor in sales progress:)

Marketing determines success of sales. It is the business fact that can not be debated for most giant first market entrants that failed in marketing have been overtaken by new market entrants. it is marketing that creates awareness of products and position them in minds of customer and arouses the curiosity to buy.

In modern times of increased competition, no matter how much capital company invests , any company that fails in marketing will fail in sales. In long run , it will have to close for sales determines profitability and going concern of an entity.

Marketing is key to successful sales. If you think of the many companies already selling your product, you will know that he only way to attract customers to your business is through marketing. Without marketing the business remains stagnant or does not even take off. Bayt has marketed itself so well and used interesting ways of connecting its clients. There is no doubt that its marketing stratergy has set it on the map. I however need to stress that Marketing on its own cannot work alone . There are other business stratergies that need to play a role in the success of sales.

No, Yes, and there is another dimension to it.

If you expect that your sales to pump up overnight then the answer is no. Marketing is not born for such things. Sales promo is a different story and we are talking about marketing, right?

So let's have an example:

According to CBS Interactive, Apple brand is valued for $184 bn (CBS, 2017). It means that if today somebody decided to destroy all Apple tangibles, stores, collateral material, and warehouses, you can buy Apple for $184 bn just in case you want to run the business. Keep in mind those Apple fans that prefer brand over technological superiority of Android devices (some memes make a fair statement; no offense).

Strong brand equity that Apple has acquired, is what keeps it afloat, allowing it to pull off things that otherwise would destroy a weak brand. So does marketing determine success of sales? Yes, but longterm and when properly executed. But that's not the end of the story.

If I ask you to define loyalty... think about it for a moment.

Perhaps you have defined loyalty as a repeat purchasing behavior. That is a product appealed to you. You tried a product and you were happy. Extremely happy. Next time you went looking for it to use once more. And more. That's sales cycle.

At this point in time, your dashboard registers nice numbers. Yet, each offer, product, or service, has its life cycle. This means that inevitabely sales will start coming down. What happens is that companies start introducing more and more products to sustain their growth.

My point is that consumers are on a constant lookout for new adventures and knowledge. You might use an iPhone, but you see that food bloggers are increasingly leaning to Huawei devices with infamous Leica cams. You might recommend this phone to a person who is on a look out for a phone with a good camera. That's showing off knowledge (and a topic for another time).

Welcome to the world of advocacy, a world where sales cycle has been extended. Today winning the minds is more important than winning specific purses. Although Sales is a good indicator of company's performance, marketing is not there to determine only success of sales.

As a saying goes "Work hard until you do not need to introduce your self."

Absolutely. Marketing is a major determinant of success in sales. However, there are other key factors which together with marketing determine the overall success of sales for instance; Quality of product, durability, credibility, multipurpose usage, customer relationship management, corporate social responsibility, stock management, channel management.
