Bounce rates are a function of user or better put customer experience on your web pages. It can be really frustrating when this is sporadically increasing especially when we expect that our site visitors get the best experience of their lives. To combat this, take note of the following: 1. The average load time of your page. You need to ensure that the pages load with great speed as interacting with a slowly loading page is a good ground for bouncing. Constantly optimize your page and ensure it loads faster. 2. Make sure the site is truly mobile optimized. One other reason why users bounce your pages is if what they get when they check your website on their mobile devices is more or less a caricature of the real site. Its frustrating and users will definitely bounce if this happens. Therefore optimize your pages for mobile. Remember over 70% of your target users prefer their mobiles to either the laptop or desktop. 3. The landing page experience. If you have an ad with site links that direct people to specific sections on your websites, those pages are called "landing pages" because that's where the user gets to on clicking your ad. Make sure the content of those landing pages are tailored towards what the ad offers. It will be disappointing for a user who clicks your ad about a particular brand of shoe to be led to a page containing various broad types of shoes as opposed to the specific brand you're advertising in the linked ad. When this happens, users feel tricked and they bounce without converting on your website. 4. Minimise pop ups too as much as possible. If the pop up is not relevant to the content of the page, they should be removed. The ones that are relevant too should be kept at the barest minimum. Getting pop ups here and there affects great user experience on your site and this will contribute to the high bounce rates. I would have loved to say more but let me stop here for now. If you can check all these, you should be rest assured of improved user experience and reduced bounce rates on your web pages. Thanks.
