What's the difference between "nursery", "kindergarten" and "child care"?

Kindergarten is when a child is officially enrolled in a normal school. It is the first step of formal education with a standard curriculum while nursery and childcare are more of a learning and/or daycare centers where children can also learn early education with no standard curriculum.

Nursery is for when the kid is a baby

kindergarten is for when the kid is 5

child care is day care, for when you're out and have no baby sitter.
