Visualizing ideas and making connections between the details proved to be the most effective ways of memorizing for me. Composing stories and making use of visual memory makes the material you're trying to learn more meaningful.
Acronyms, spaced repetition, studying outside or before going to sleep are other effective strategies. You can learn more about them here.
By association. Link your material to something, and recall the objects when needed. Studying by means of association i find is a very good and strong method.

Thaks for invitation,
I do believe that the most efficient method for me personaly is to take / point out some written notes.
When I take notes, I add observations in the margins which I use as clues and cues for later. When I need to recall certain information, I think about the clue for it (a mnemonic phrase, sniipet of poetry, a pun, etc. that relates to the topic) and I can bring the context of it to mind along with what I was thinking while writing it. I have been doing this successfully for many years now and my success in scholastic endeavors bears out its efficacy for me.
I remember things by using them - I need to say a word, a phrase or a text - thus I learn the new info
