The tory of Lawrence of Arabia is about a Prince of Arabia who fought against the British troops to save his country from invasion and the plot to overthrow the Arabian culture and people of their land. He overcame and emerged victorious and became a great leader and is today a hero.
The other side of the story is that he was a British soldier in the British forces, saw the injustice of killing and plundering such a dear nation, turned rogue and defected to join the Arabian Military and became a Hero and Legend to this day.
I am sorry, I like you alot, thank you for the great faith in me, but I have probably seen the movie once on our tv as a 7 year old and don't remember the exact details.
An inordinately complex man who has been labeled everything from hero, to charlatan, to sadist, T.E. Lawrence blazed his way to glory in the Arabian desert, then sought anonymity as a common soldier under an assumed name. The story opens with the death of Lawrence in a motorcycle accident in Dorset at the age of 46, then flashbacks to recount his adventures: as a young intelligence officer in Cairo in 1916, he is given leave to investigate the progress of the Arab revolt against the Turks in World War I. In the desert, he organizes a guerrilla army and--for two years--leads the Arabs in harassing the Turks with desert raids, train-wrecking and camel attacks. Eventually, he leads his army northward and helps a British General destroy the power of the Ottoman Empire.
It's a bit of an oxymoron to brief an epic but Lawrence of Arabia chronicles the life a seemingly quite mediocre Welsh bastard called Thomas Edward Lawrence. The film casts his character as some form of incredible intelligence which is odd, considering that it was a female, Gertrude Bell, who had most of the intel. Well the movie edits the key humans out if they happen to be female and Arabs aren't portrayed too well either. It's a bit of a puffed up film which should be taken as it is - a visual lollipop to boost white men's egos. Do not mistake this film as pure historical drama. With baited breath I await the making of Bell of Arabia.
wow this reminds me with the movie and Omar El Sherief...
He was a British intelligence officer who was assigned taskes behind the enemy lines. the enemy was the Ottomans at the time. his main task was inciting the Arab tribes against the Ottoman Empire to cause rebellion. He succeded because after the world war I, Englad and France shared the Arab world.
