It depends on the required level of  Arabic. How ever I concider the Waseet Dictionary is one of the main language resorces in addition to a suitable grammar book and reading one, in addition to a suitable story book.

Applied English : Related to how to use English in every field (Jargon) , you can take courses in Translation , Tourism , Media and so many other courses that is enjoyable more than Literature ... Literature : Related to courses in English history .. you can take courses about American 1 , American 2 , England 1 .... etc . I advice you to major in Applied English ... since it's easier , enjoyable and there are more fields to work in .. Good luck of what you chose
