What mean configuration ؟?

In communications or computer systems, a configuration is an arrangement of functional units according to their nature, number, and chief characteristics. 

The grouping of parts or elements in a particular combination is what we call configuration. Configuration of a machine defines its speed nd performance i.e how the machine would work.

Configuration can refer to either hardware or software or the combination of both. For instance, a typical configuration for a PCconsists of 32MB, a floppy drive, a hard disk, a modem, a CD-ROM drive, a VGA monitor, and the Win OS.
