Employee behavior can be difficult to modify or change at times. However, if you want your employees to behave in a certain way, it is important to manage them in a manner that supports and encourages positive behaviors. 

 Managers have the ability to turn information into meaning and ensure understanding via conversation.  Good managers try all kinds of ways to encourage others to modify or change, usually through support and challenge.  Following are the points to modify or change Staff’s behavior:

 

01.  Identify the barriers to the employee’s success:

The great managers focus on helping employees overcome their “ability barriers”.  For example, if an employee has trouble staying organized, it may be more effective to provide her with tools and strategies for managing her calendar and to-do list.  This approach works much better than motivating Employee.

 

02.   Reinforce Positive Behaviors on Employees:

When you reward employees, you reinforce positive behaviors. When you notice a behavior in your workplace that you want to see more, be sure to acknowledge, recognize and possibly reward it so that Employees will feel encouraged and supported by their company and manager.

apply rules regulation  , policyes but some time you forget this action of line , use ignor mind and soft dealing for a better relationship or behavior and try to build a Trust   .

Modify or changing staff behavior is not easy task, because all humans resist to change. First,have face to face meeting with the managers. Identify issues and discuss the issues with each manager and ask  his/her view/opinion to reslove that. After getting their answer, if that is as per company policy, work closely with HR to implement that.If not suitable as per co. policy,then council the Managers and set their direction,explain in detail their specific goals, impart them training of change management,as a senior manager commit them benefits of the change and their importance in that role,recongnize each individual for their contribution. Introduce Rapid recognition awards.

As a employee he has to live life on a personal and professional level. May be some abrupt incidents in his personal life may have a negative impact on the over all performance , there comes the need for the HR to step in talk to him/her to open up themselves to understand the real problem affecting his/her performance. Once you understand the cause of problem, help them to sort it out, lend an helping hand to solve their problems.

Work behaviour is the behaviour one uses in employment and is normally more formal than other types of human behaviour. This varies from profession to profession, as some are far more casual than others. For example, a computer programmer would usually have far more leeway in their work behaviour than a lawyer.

The term employee  behaviour, refers to the way in which employees respond to specific circumstances or situations in the workplace. While many elements determine an individual's behaviour in the workplace, employees are shaped by their culture and by the organization's culture.

Zero tolerance for bad and poor behaviour or bad attitude in an employee or staff of the organisation.  This affects others around and one bad apple is enough to make other positive staff rotten too.  Provide an incentive to those who make a difference in the company and help the others when they need.  Make notes on staff without being noticed as this will incite anyone.  Take the lead to change things for the better in an organisation you work for.  What you do matters too and you must be positive to effect positive behaviour in others.  Appreciate others more and often as ever and this is the key factor for change.
