Customer service requires qualitative analysis, preciseness and fluency in communication... by doing so one is able to present the quality of his product and also make aware that such and such product is manufactured for commercial use. Most people find it difficult to communicate properly to the customer hence find that there is no requirement of communication and that the product will take care of itself. Customer service jobs require you to understand the feelings of the customers, their preferences, their awareness, etc. So people take it for granted that customer service jobs don't add much to the ultimate business. It is the toughest thing in business especially in marketing. I would prefer to say that the job is not underestimated but it is difficult to perform and people tend to follow the path of least resistance and avoidance.
CS helps in product development by:
1. Making people aware of the product.
2. Introducing the product
3. Through trials and demonstrations used to advertise the product better.
4. One on one communication will carry the communication from heart to heart.
customer services job needs q lot of skills commumication, coldblood, keep smilling for long times even when you are exhausted, besides that jib brings major feedback so you have to be smqart and organized too.
I would say I don't why they underestimate and if they are let them be that way. You give your very best, keep up your divine smile, shine your charismetic attitude and persoanily on daily basis and spread out a very positive flow on them.
most people see their selves as superior to everyone specially if they are rich and famous. people tend to under estimate customer service job because they do not know exactly the role of customer service in the business. Customer service if we will closely give attention to this job, it is the builkding block of business. why, in customer service, we will attract the customers to come back, to repurchase our product, to trust our business depending upon how a customer's service representative manage a customer. if a company has a good customers service system and highly qualified customer service representatives, then your business is a wow.

It is not actually underestimating the customer service job but rather ecpecting too much from the CS and if what they offer is authentic and trustworthy. We need to concentrate on how we can better deliver and provide excellent customer service by equipping our CS staff the needed skills like effective communication to handle inquiries and concerns. The heart of business is the customer amd if we can give them the needed attention and solving matters more accurately it will have a positive and favorable outcome in whatever product or service that we provide. Product development will follow when we can provide excellent and efficient customer service to our clients and customers who will patronize and share their opinion or concern if what we offer is with quality and have high standards.
Underestimating the Cs. Center by normal people due to their knowledge of it, but the people who work with big reputation companies they admire the Cs.Center members.
