some times its the best to show your concept creativity through showing free hand sketches and some times its better to post edit in Photoshop to show the beauty of your idea
I guess it is like wrapping gift.It shows your respect to the gift and the one you are giving it to. It is important how you are planing to present your work, and if you post product it, It can be presented better.
although there are many simple softwares now to postproduct your photoes and renders, So you dont need to learn photoshop anymore, but I always prefer photoshop rather than other softwars.
