The performance evaluation process implies performance standards and actual performance measurement. These two elements are discussed below

 Performance Standards :

Performance standards or performance rates are considered to be a source of information needed to assess the performance of individuals. These standards vary according to the nature of the organization's activity and the objectives it seeks to achieve.

Measuring actual performance:

The measurement of actual performance is a process in which data is collected and processed in relation to the achievement of the performance achieved in a certain period of time. The actual investigator is then compared with the objective performance criteria. The actual performance measurement process requires measures that are based on the previously defined performance criteria, Performance measures are derived from the standard rates of performance.
