There should be no gap!
Remove all self inflicted barriers and make work an opportunity for everybody that contributes.
Employes Relations and communication channels (cherishing meeetings - team building activities -2 way communications - suggestions channels - recognations programs - groups benefits...etc)
As far as employee and employer is concern, we must arrange some event whenre employer(top management) and employees could participates;
1- It might be Annual dinner where employees are being awarded prizes and shields by employer.
2- Arrange division wise picnics in case of large organization.
3- Have some recreation or sports event where employees and employer could participate.
4- Ask employee to share ideas and suggestions for improvement I process or cost cutting and incase of practical solutions they must be acknowledged by employer.
5- Employer or top management must have round and MBW(Management by walking) style of working so that they didn’t confine them in glass offices.
6- Monthly meet-up with division wise to discuss the performance and generate ideas.
Such efforts generates ideas and motivates both entity for having their role in successful organization.
A Management Training Could be; for me that would be the best answer..
simply make them feel that the owner is a Team player
-Occasional form(anonymous feed) to collect feedback and grievances from employees
-Employers taking time out for one-one session with employee representatives from all levels
-Surprise skip level meetings
Open forums where heart to heart conversations can be done addressing issues, constraints, improvements, goals , solutions.
Best way to bridge gap is communication
By application of social responsibility strataegy
Just Start Positive communication and distances ll be past thing.
