Do you think HR managers will start "interviewing" computers or programs in the foreseeable future?

With the rise of Artificial Intelligence, do you think we will start seeing computers and programs "apply" for jobs, and if so, how will their interviews look like?

You can never avoid a face to face interview in the candidate selection process. Advanced technology can help you to reduce the cost of interveiw process. However you cannot depend completely on computers / programms to finalize the candidate. yes this can be used for the first level screening only.

To interview a logical and calculated system that is designed to perform a specific job, and do it well is illogical. The interview should be more of a set test that manufacturers use on the line to give the “go” or “no-go” for a specific product that was just assembled. It is like interviewing a software running on a computer; the software is designed to perform specific tasks; interviewing that piece of software will not help in any way. It is analogues to using an analog system to assess a digital system.

Nevertheless, I think the question here is more like: Are robots and similar digital systems are going to have consciousness within them? Thus, this will make them human like (emulating humans very well). In this case, can we interview such system? The answer then would be yes if and only if they contain true consciousness. The bigger question here becomes: Will computers and robots ever have/evolve/contain consciousness? This is the oldest philosophical question in existence regarding technology. I don’t personally believe that such thing is achievable any time soon or even in a couple of hundred years; and it will only be an emulation only!

Not in the near future I would say. I do think however that the jobs of employees will change and that it is important to make sure your personnel is 'fit for the future'. Are they willing to change into an even more customer-orientated mindset to make sure your company is ready to offer the ultimate High Tech - Human Touch experience in the foreseeable future?

I dont think so. Primarily, interview as a proces is majorly of interaction. Computers or programs are outcome of a set of predefined logics and the scope is thus limited within that boundaries. Indeed the term intervieweing would not even suitable to refer such an interaction , the process if any of such may come up in future can be referred as testing only

HR Manager evaluation has its own limit. As the internet is flooded with many readymade answers people just go thorugh the same and able to impress the interviewer.  Use of computers from which perspective it matters. Already people record these answers in large corporates in computers as part of the interviewing. Even some orgs record the video sessions if the interview happens in remote position. But here, at what level this usage matters a lot.  Is the computer is going to ask the questions? Then it is interesting move.  Or Managers just use the computer as repository ?? Then there is no huge shift in current process of evaluation.

yes think that. he will start interviewing computer programmer who interviewed last week.

Never, because the computer is the means of education and does not have the spirit in the employee.
