In computing, input is the data that is provided to the computer system to be processed into information.

While output is the information produced after data processing has occured.

We use peripheral devices such as mouse and keyboard to provide input to the computer, which we make use of devices such as monitor, printers and speakers for output.

Input Data are information given to the system for processing. The system receives this input data, stores, and processes it to produce output Data. Input devices can be : Keyboard, Mouse, Microphone, while Output devices are Monitor, Speaker, etc.Same way a programmable Logic Controller which are industrial computers receives input signals and continually monitors the state of Input Devices and simultaneaously Controlling the state of Output Devices.
