As a customer, I have enjoyed certain loyalty reward, it worked when i reached the qualification level. The loyalty card becomes ineffective when not in use, lack of business generation.
The most rewarding plan is the continuous sale/discounted offer that company is providing as this triggers continuous sales, repeat customers and additionally increase of loyal customers.

It has worked for me because it help to retain customers,
increase sales and revenu,
you get direct referral and it help to build trust in your brand.
It also gives you a stable customer relationship and price intensitivity.
In some cases, it has not work beause of distraction from other companies.customers are expose to many sales representative who also persued with different produsts .
also, customer complain about the procedures of collecting the loyalty incentives. that the rewards can only be collected with difficulties.
Th promise reward proves to be of little value.
firms do not keep thheir promise because there is always indaquate supply of products advertised.
