In my opinion.. both win when they both use the other's skill... which means a manager should have a leader's skills, and a leader should have a manager's skills.. you can't be a good manager without leadership skills. and you can't be a leader either without managarial skills.....

Leadership and management must go hand in hand. They are not the same . But they are necessarily linked, and complementary. Any effort to separate the two is likely to cause more problems than it solves. The manager’s job is to plan, organize and coordinate. The leader’s job is to inspire and motivate. in simple word the  manager  maintains; the leader develops

I want to be a manager Why looking for manager vs leader while a good manager can make him helpfull and a friend

this will make them reach the goal which they are both working for.

We have to know first the difference:

Managers: Persons whose influence on others is limited to the appointed managerial authority of their positions to reward and punish.Leaders: Persons with managerial and personal power who can influence others to perform actions beyond those that could be dictated by those persons’ formal (position) authority alone.

Manager Vs Leader should not be in a competition, otherwise the manager will find another leader for the teamwok.

The leader drives well under the supervision of the manager to implement the work policy and achieve objectives and targets.

For ensuring the success of a team /  organization, it is required that the roles of a manager and a leader walk hand in hand.  A manager offers direction, guidance and vision while a leader is someone who implements these aspects by leading the front and leading by example.  It is not necessary that a manager be a leader in all activities, however it is very crictical that he develops leaders within his team who can be the motivation and who can provide momentum to the entire team in implementing the organizational goals and objectives.

Both are vital for an organization to grow. We need both Managaers as well as Leaders. Still there are conflicts. WHY?

BECAUSE, most of the time Leader needs to follow a Manager in existing Organizational structure. We need to change this trend. Leaders need to follow another Leader. If Manager has that Ledership skill, that's just great.

My viewpoint of Leadership: Leader should create a Leader. Leader should spwan a leader.

People listen to Manager because they have legitimate power to direct their team members. This authority is associated with the official position/designation of Manager. However, a leader posses power rather than authority to direct and guide his followers. Its a choice decision rather than professional obligation. A manager ask his subordinate to do the work wheras leaders show how to excel in professional settings. Manager lead a team wheras a leader demonstart to lead as well as follow.
