How can we implement VLAN in a campus network?

V-Lan helps us to create Multiple networks with one class of IP address. and by restricting inter V-Lan communication we can allow or deny the users from accessing a perticula networks : List the network devices we require for the successful implementaion of Vlan in a campus with 8 departments in 8 buidlings

Dear , VLAN is a logical separation of a switch physical port s to provide a separation between traffic , actually , you can deploy VLANS to separate students traffic from employees traffic on the same switch , but remember you will need a Managed Layer2 switch to do the Job .
also for a company you can use it to separe the traffic from Finance department from IT department from Sales Department and so on , but each traffic is going to be on a dedicated subnet .
In my company i uses VLANs to separate Data Traffic from Voice traffic to secure voice traffic from being hacked from local users.

VLAN is Logical Dividing Switch port into Multiple Network ?

to implement Vlan first you should have hierarchical network Dessign which is the same department or section of your network must be on the same Subnet  and all your switch should

support VTP Protocol like cisco2960 series so you can Put the same subnet/Department into one vlan you can create as many vlan you want and if you want inter Vlan connection (one device from one vlan access another device on another Vlan) you need Router or Layer3 Switch

for VLAN you need Manageable Switch and play wit multiple networks.
You can get guide form google to manage VLAn if your are not much familiar.
Its tuff but possible so study hard and manage Your VLAN easily .
Create VLAN oN Switch and manage trunking with individual VLANs If router is there then you need to use protocols also..
use Study Guide of CCNA.
Hope this helps you ..
Thanks

Use a Layer3 Switch, Which will have to offer this feature of vlans :) Its simple and very helpful!

One important thing while setting up campus network is to make sure that we identify the LAN segment which has relatively more traffic.
We can set the Switch in that perimeter to be a root bridge for an efficient LAN design and thereby avoid any bottlenecks.
