• The laptop is not booting up. When I go to bios and start the hard drive self test it gives the error message like hard drive is not getting detected. • What is the next step? Do I replace the hard drive or should try reseating the hard drive. • Does taking the hard drive out removing the wires , then connecting the wires back and putting the hard drive back in the socket work. • Should the1st step be a power drain as sometimes static electricity leads to the malfunction. • Also is it advisable to put the computer in sleep mode when not in use or is it better to shut it down. If the computer has been lying in sleep mode for long periods of time does it lead to the computer not booting up after some time.
Hard drive is damaged still can recover the file by replacing the electronics card.. I used to have that problem too and I recovered my file that almost melted down my body because of my archives...
For some reason your system is not recognizing the Hard Drive. Could be it crashed, or your operating system is corrupted. Get a boot disk and run it and see if your disk is recognized in DOS mode. If it is, you might have to reformat and reload your O/S. If it's not in there, crashed.
Another possibility could be that your CMOS battery is dying. This little round battery supplies power to keep BIOS settings intact. The BIOS stores information such as the configurations of your hard drives and CD-ROM drives. If this battery is dead, it loses that information and booting problems can occur. Try testing or replacing the battery if the hard drive sounds normal and is powered up.
Try first to change and use a good SATA or PATA Cable.
If not, try to slave the hard drive and try to recover its files.
It also works if you interchange cables, like plugging and un-plugging over again.
If all of this did not work, a great possibility that your hard drive had a bad sector.
This is still recoverable using some software, as long as your hard drive is able to run it is still recoverable.
you sure it from setting hard disk in bios and then try startup with portapol cd otherwise your hard format it
you shouhd see that to solve your problem
