Numerical Analysis focuses on the development of numerical methods for solving differential equations

IMS is a company which is specialized in pharmaceutical and healthcare market research. 

Saying that someone is familiar with numerical analysis of IMS data doesn't mean that he is familiar with Quantitative research, but you can say that he may have data analysis skills.
