How can any company/ management measure the loyalty of its employees? Is there any specific indications?
Agreed with the answer of Mr. Mehdi Raza
Actually a company has two wheels; employer and employee. Company will take benefit only when both the wheels are working properly. No one wheeling can bring good to the company. Now there are two scenarios.
1. Employer is paying according to the market rate and prevailing rules. The employee is bound to show full dedication in performance and sincerity with the company. If not, employer will judge him at once by his attitude.
2. Employer is not paying according to the market rates and prevailed rules. The employee is not bound to keep attached with the company but even then he has to perform sincerely and dedication as long as he is committed. However, he can leave this company according to the rules given in the agreement. Employer will not feel any displeasure.
However, if the employee is just counting the days to make money in a company he will be judged at once by an experienced employer.
Large companies have special performance charts according to theie work to keep an eye on their employees.
By how much effort they put to the company each and everyday to be better.
* working in none duty hours
* suggest ideas, point to weakness in the organization to be fixed
* you will find the lotal good employee stand out of the rest you will just feel it.
well
i think being a good hard worker makes you show how loyal you are
you can surprise you boss by making unexpected hard work with group or individual affort
just try to know how your company work and how it measure your work and play that role
:)
Employees Loyalty can be measured or reflected from various indicators like
Employee loyalty may not be quantified exactly or measured precisely . However its indications can be made out from various analysis.
Before a company measures an employees loyalty to the company, it is necessary to analyse the factors causing disloyalty. If it is any of the following reasons, as a company, you cannot expect any kind of loyalty.
1) Does the company respect its employees and their welfare? Their past attitude towards their employees is a proof of who they are i.e., keeping good employees and not employees who pretend to be good in character or their work. Incapable employees who manipulate their way for a promotion is an indication for a disaster to occur in the near future, as good employees will be pushed out or will move out to find better opportunity elsewhere.
2) Is the company treating their employees as machines or humans? Man needs proper rest. This is the reason why no one should work more than8 hours per day, in order to increase and ensure efficiency of employees work. The past companies were successful in getting loyalty towards their organisations due to this factor.
3) Does the company have competent managers who knows how to lead a team (not through threatening or intimidation). Bad managers are the disasters of any organisation's progress, as they are occupying that post for money and does not treat their subordinates with respect, which is an indication of disloyalty towards the company. This should be analysed thoroughly. Happy employees in a team indicates good management.
4) Hard work and efficiency should be appreciated. This can be measured if the employees performs all their jobs during the work hours and not overtime (unless it is an absolute must) since if a person is working overtime, it is a sign of inefficient management of time, money and energy. Here the manager of the team should be competent to assign tasks to the employees, giving them sufficient time to do the job within office hours.
5) Firing employees with no good reason is another factor which increases disloyalty. Therefore, if a person faces firing, the case should be investigated by the top management thoroughly before releasing the employee, as they could be losing a gem and in turn collecting dirt as employees, who does not improve work efficiency with their presence.
Of course, if within a reasonable retirement and salary tempting. Working environment and nice. Then can be measured by the extent of his loyalty in a healthy way !
Punctuality and actually doing the job you are employed to do during working hours is a good start, everything else is a bonus.
Some of the examples to measure loyalty of employee towards company:
1. Employee that proactively asks to do additional work to help company achieve objectives/goals.
2. Actively contributes to generate ideas, suggestions that improves comapany's business/revenues.
3. Always look for opportunities to help others, share experiences/knowledge.
4. Always willing to take challenging tasks and never say no.
5. Never hide issues, or other information. Proactively offers solutions.
6. Follows company policies, principles, decipline without fail and set example to others..
getting an insight
you are never going to get a good idea of what your employees think if you don't ask them. honesty is always the best policy, but often it is the case that employees are scared of telling you exactly what they think. there are various open and anonymous methods you can use to canvas your employees
Performance Appraisals measure specifically employee's performance and achievement of goals. They also allow to identify performance weaknesses and strengths. To measure employee' engagement with the firm (motivation, loyalty, perception of the Company's Leadership Team etc), I suggest to implement an Engagement / Voice of the Employee Survey.
