Is Firewall secure as network security?

It Depends, For Home or SOHO environment, Software Firewall will do the trick and include features like Antispam, Antivirus etc. Which is earier to configure and manage. For Enterprise Environment, Hardware Firewall is the way to go. Hardware firewalls offer higher throughput, speed and Hardened Protection. Though, there are mutliple Open source and freeware Firewalls Virtual Machines are available which can meet most of the Firewall Functionality a users need. 

Firewall will do the work if the firewall is updated with the signatures on timely bases.

But we dont know what new tricks hackers will use in future.

Just prepare and be ready for any attacks by placing good firewall engines. Now a days in market we have many UTM firewalls available which can do deep packet inspection till layer8 (Human layer).

Check point always exceptionally good F/W.

Cyber roam, Dell sonic walls etc.

Though I am a bit confused in the question however firewall is a part of “Network Security” we use firewall use firewalls to make our network secure.

A Firewall is any hardware or software designed to prevent unwanted network traffic.

you can't garantee100% security in every firewall, always hackers will try to evade and evaluate somthing new ....

AS i know we use firewall for network security.basically firewall may be hardware as well as software.it works as a gateway to prevents attack from intruder and from unauthorised user in other words it allows or deny the traffic which is passing through the firewall.

we also use checkpoint as firewall which is basically a software which one we install on our console server,in this we create and store policies on console server while we store policies on firewall in two tier architechture while in three tier we create policies on console server,store on management server and install on firewall.and there are many features on smart dashboard of console server.with the help of that features we can block spams messages and viruses.there are three types of monitoring tools i.e smartview tracker,smartview monitor and eventia reporter which are use to diagonose the problems.
