Yes, it is true . I think healthy relations often starts with language. I don't know how it is possible to have good relations with people who doesn't know our language.

Several tools are provided here to assist you with communicating with people from other cultures in an effective way, and to increase your understanding of some of the cultural beliefs and attitudes that may affect a person's response to illness, health care providers and treatment.

It is very important to remember that everyone is an individual and that there are significant variations of belief within a particular culture. Information about cultural differences should be used to increase awareness of possible differences, rather than to stereotype individuals or make assumptions which may not hold true.

I agree fully. We need to know each and others language to make effective communication. Culture indicates our identity.

I disagree... one must not only use language to communicate. There are many other ways that will work just fine. I say this from experience. I teach ESL university students and many times I use pictures, body language, acting,.... to communicate and so do the students. It works perfectly fine, and this goes on for a year so it isn't just one conversation.

Culture differences are not barriers. They are what makes global human relationships unique.
