the vision and mission statements we all share at our workplace,for success all employees must share and understand why are we doing this project,what are the benefits to you ,to your organization,and community.
without a strong leader conveying these messages and controlling the outcome,corruption and greed will prevail. devotion and loyalty will seize to exist.
procrastination
tere is sevrsal reasean , sort by importance as :
- Lack of understanding of the control mechanisms for change requests
- Bureaucratic
- work Centralized decision
- Unwillingness totake responsibility
- Corruption-
Quite often countries tries to accomplich their set projects. However, most projects will take longer to be accomplished than planned due to various reasons. Some will eventually, remain as white elephants due to some of the below mentioned reasons:
-Budget deficit
-Diversion of funds due to eventualities that will be a threat to humanity
-Vision not fully shared
-lack of anticipated donor funding
-No clearly, defined roles and duties
-lack of steering commitee etc
I don't think that governement projects fail so often all arround the world. Where they do, I think the main rreason is lack of accountability (if any) and lack of planning and common public goals.
Governments progects fail mostly because of several reasons:
absence of team spirit
Lack of two major resources,1) Skilled labour top to bottom and2) Finance.
Lack of leadership & lack of understanding between leadership & Employee. Advertisement of Project/Schemes is not in proper way is also the reason to fail government projects.
From my personal point of view that the delayed projects in Saudi Arabia, the result of several factors , including the following1 - Weak bidding technical terms that there are a lot of differences that appear after awarding the contractor , the difference between the drawings and bills of quantities and specifications.2 - Absence of project management office to regulates the relationship between the owner, consultant and contractor which lead to random in work and non-compliance with the decisions .3 - the complexity of the style of work and non- work according to international codes , no reference.4 - slowdown in Tak decisions leading to the weakness of the workflow.Through my work in the Kingdom noticed that owner can save huge amounts of money if owner studied tender in properly and professional.
There could be a number of reasons and or a combination of;
-Poor management structure
-Lack of a solid project plan and project methodology
-Poorly defined roles and responsibilities
-Poor communication
-Scope creep
-Schedule and cost overruns etc..
