type regedit in the search bar in the menu, right down your credintial, then choose the file or node you want to backup then press on file on the menu bar and click on export and choose the file location you want to backup to.

  1. Open the Registry Editor by clicking the Start button Picture of the Start button, typing regedit into the search box, and then pressing Enter.‌ Administrator permission required If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

  2. Locate and click the key or subkey that you want to back up.

  3. Click the File menu, and then click Export.

  4. In the Save in box, select the location where you want to save the backup copy to, and then type a name for the backup file in the File name box.

  5. Click Save.

Hi! For a backup copy of the Registry you can try the Export option from the File menu of Registry Editor. This will create a .reg file that can be used to restore the Registry by using the Import option. You can export the entire tree structure of keys, subkeys and entries or selective, just selected entries only.
