If i want a job in Dubai. Is it a good idea to visit Dubai for a month or two to search and apply there in person? And what is the best time to visit?

If i want to get a job in Dubai what is the best way to apply and find one actually? Is visiting Dubai and applying in person there a good idea or might be just a waste of money? I would appreciate any help from people who went this same thing.

The job market here is saturated and it is not easy to find employment in certain trades. A two months visit might not give one sufficient time to find employment either. I find it an extremely tough market for seasoned, educated and skilled ASIAN professionals who command high wages. That's the bitter truth. Even the recruitment agents mostly advertise for native english speakers or westerners.

My personal suggestion to anyone who wants to venture to work here: Find employment first and foremost, with wages that can pay your rent and can meet your expenses here. It's not cheap. Good luck!

Your chances of being employed increases a lot if you personally visit and attend interviews. But do some research on the companies you want to target since it is difficult to stay focused once you are in Dubai. Also, find out if your job requires you have a driving license.

Try inviting some friends along and share the costs. Make sure you have a car and someone to take you around to places you have to interview. If not, it can be difficult although, dubai has good train services. Good places is only feasible during winters.

Good luck. Keep in touch and do ask if you need further help.

However, companies tend to hire people

I agree with you , in person is the best way to apply for a job or you need to have connection with some friends in your field.

Yes it is a god idea but you can also get information about the country, its culture and people on line and from other people who have visited the place. So it is not a must.
