Every employee wants a token of appreciation from bosses above them but some bosses dont have good words of appreciation in their dictonary and they only know how to shout and pull up employees for mistakes and lack of commitment sometimes.
So to such bosses dont keep much expectation as you know your self if you have done a good job or not , if it effects you too much better start looking for a new job or change to a new team if you have option.So solution is either dont get effected or change the problem which bogs you down.
The practice of sycophancy, boss appeasement, expecting or demanding favours from subordinates has become very common in organisations and you will find such sycophants everywhere.
You may not be praising, appeasing or doing favours to your boss as you are a simple and straight forward person. I advice you to remain a good person and continue with your work without bothering yourself much.
Changing the job is not a solution as you may still end up with a boss who is even worse.
The world is full of not so good people and you have to adjust to the circumstances.
Understand his/her expecations. Develop yourself and do your best to meet and exceed those expectations. If you keep failing, look for another job.
Circumstances like this should be looked at in a positive way. First, listen to what your boss' say about the things that you do and point out the aspects he finds unacceptable to his eyes. Internalize, put yourself to your boss' shoes and find what he sees on your work that he or she is unsatified. The keypoint is DEVELOP. Take every comment and criticism like a sandpaper which slowly polishes your masterpiece and the end you get your reward. NEVER QUIT!
In parallel to keeping the good work, I would keep looking for the satisfaction key to my manager. Every person has a certain key to each certain emotion.
Every day is not the same day.. Follow the management process and give your100 %
By the end of the day first an individual should be satisfied by his/her work only then he can make his BOSS happy.
Such bosses can be very hazardous for one’s career, in in case you rip yourself open and still your boss goes "hmmmm but you could have done it this way the results would have been better" or somewhat similar, trust me you are in a fix
Either you can take it as challenge to change his mind by understanding you boss from a very critical angle and delivering in the exact manner of precision (high stress)
OR
You end up taking a transfer !! (low stress)
Keep doing what are you doing, because you add value to your self.
just keep giving all ypou can and set down with him or here and ask them what exactly they want.
and listen,listen,listen don't interrupt them just listen and keep listening.
you will know whaqt exactly they want.
what you have with them is a communication problem,just listen and do things your way but use their procesure ,thats what they want
It depends on nature of work. My suggestions are in this situation:
1. Analyze of supervisor expectation.
2. Consult or discuss with him.
3. Prioritize the important and emergency work.
4. Prepare monthly, quarterly and annually work plan.
