Scenario: A Manager hired by the HR / Company was assigned to a project site with his official appointment as a Manager via contract to head a Unit at site. Politically, the project site was managed and headed by an Project Manager, though for some reasons the Manager was appointed only as a sub-unit lead which is apparently not in congruent with his official appointment which is to head a unit. Though the manager receives the same salary, benefits etc, he feels he is being demoted by the Project Manager. If you are the Manager, what will you feel?
If you wanted to become a successful person keep your self-respect/ago away from job.
FIRST DIFFER BETWEEN EGO AND SELF RESPECT,SELF RESPECT EARN U A BETTER JOB WHILE EGO IS AN ACQUIRED DISEASE THAT PERISHES ONESELF .
I believe character is more important. It sustains career and self respect.
The self-esteem should be respected because it affects my professional path and affects the revenue because the company is supposed to consider its interest and put it above all considerations without looking at the people
Ego and self respect are the ones which affect our social and personal relations. Healthy relations are very important to achieve success at workplace, social life and personal life. If we have Ego we will hurt others and spoil relations. If we don't protect our self respect we loose respect of others and that too spoil our relations. Hence I believe Killing Ego and protecting self respect are very important to achieve better productivity in relationships.
Self Respect but not false or bloated ego ..If one works honestly to the best of one's ability and training/ experience and exposure, with judicious self review, then one is preserving the self respect and career is taken good care of.If self respect is intact, reputation of person also grows and career is enhanced or even career changes become possible.Behaving out of character and without any self respect is meaningless.
Work speaks for itself . . .
Getting an opportunity is more important, without which you can't showcase your capabilities. When you work in a team the main objective is to complete given task. While working with the team all team members will definitely recognise your caliber, knowledge, and qualities.
Self-respect is also important but not on the cost of the project. Ego has no place in teamwork and project environment.
