it saves time, it will allow you to get time to think about goals, not just activities

without delegating, you place a heavy burden on yourself. by delegating routine work will relieve some of your stress and give you more time to do your job

it can also help enhance your credibility it gives you extra time to look for more challenging tasks that can increase the value of the activities you are planning.

Delegation is very important mutually for a manager and the team members. A manager can become more productive and can incease responsibilities of team members resulting in employee satisfaction. A employee who recieves additonal activities to perform feels more satisfied than an employee doing a routine work. This results in employee development to take higher roles and thus manager can make himself available for higher roles. A delegation is not washing hands of certain activity, rather this puts more onus on manager in terms of accountability. Thus a well planned delegation of task becomes a wonderful achievement for both.

Delegation may benefit both parties. the person who delegates, will have more time to perform his/her other tasks. The person delegated to will be trained and probably motivated. The important point here is the accountability is not delegated with the tasks. It remains with who ever had it.
