It can be local , national or International travelling but work related.
travel in all cases is big advantage
in my jobs i've had in the last22 years i have travelled all over the world.i have been on both sides from procurement to exports and international sales.
expreience its all about experience, you meet professionals from different cultures and you become aware of challenges facing businesses in there countries.i have been in india, pakistan, all gcc,usa ,canada, iran, egypt, middle east, almost all europe ,japan, korea, china, hong kong,singapore,taiwan...etc.
it is the wealth of information and experience that makes it worth it.
Travelling gives you high exposure over other experiences locally and internationally, meeting new people generate new ideas.. Which is good.. The bad side is, if you travel too much, you may not have the time to transfer that experience to your team or even implement it to improve the business.
When I was the export Manager of the pasta manufacture, I was using to travel every month for exhibitions, visits, conferences, etc.
For me, traveling is very interested since It allows us to have our eyes open to what is going on abroad.
Meeting other persons, other cultures is wealth of experience and information.
the advantage of travelling is that it helps you to visit new places and get you out of bordom
the disadvantage is that it is risky in terms of accident
It gives really huge opportunities to know potential Clients and understanding their producing needs, to build commercial network and meet local sponsors, to monitor activities and analyse products of Competitors to compare their prices and features to improve the yours.
Travel broadens one's horizon makes you a better person.
It all depends on how much you like your job. If you really love your job then you will consider travelling as an opportunity to build your career by meeting more influential people.
