As the face-to-face interviews with different nationalities at their own countries costs a lot. At this point, how could we guarantee to hire the suitable candidate if the interviews (both personal, and technical) are only online?
Face to Face interviews are only the way to make profit to the consultencies which shares among all the HR's. I am not talking about all the HR's but95% are involved indirectly.
So now the consultencies takes a huge bribe which results in defeat of talent because common and poor people who dont have much money dont get chance to reach there.
I have a doubt that through only Skype how do you finalized the candidate? being in HR we did initial interviews via SKYPE and then ask the candidate to meet in person for one-to-one meeting.
Do not only rely on Skype as other factors do count.
There are many companies that actually hire candidates by taking online interviews through Skype. Although the best strategy is to select candidates by doing online interviews as well as physical interviews. The hiring process should be detailed and divided into multiple levels. If you really want to select the cream then your hiring process should be detailed enough.
We normally do Skype interviews for work-at-home jobs, but Skype should not be the only tool to assess an applicant, face-to-face interview should be the next step after he/she passed the initial skype interview.
SKYPE does not give you surity a hie potential candidate for the organization. It depends on the location of the organization. Face to face interview is better than other any format of interview. If organization has local office, they can conduct face to face interview and head office can attend skype interview.
