Is money a motivating force for an employee to work so hard? if no, what motivates you?

Not only the money there are some other forces as well like recognition of your work, promotion etc etc.

Then Money

It is subject to person's mind set. Some employees are career oriented and they are motiviated by career growth. Career growth is their motivating force to work hard. Some employees work hard for money only.  

My family especially my kids. c",)

Money is only one of the motivators, there are other aspects mentioned by by colleagues, like gratitude, and career development that also play a vital role in motivating a person

Depends on employees.For me, I am working hard because I am being paid by my company for what I have to give them.

I see that what motivates an employee depends on his location regarding the fierarchy of needs. Money will motivate peopel at the base of the pyramid, while people at the top of the pyramid will be looking more for self assurance criteria.
