I guess Apple at the beginning was better. Now all I can say about it is, Apple is trying launching new products nearly with the same features and it is depending on its brand name more than anything else. Meaning people buy its new products because they are addicted to it or either they was to show off.

As for Samsung, what I like about it is, it is targeting more than one segment with different devices and technologies. When they launch a new product, there are new features and new technologies added to it.

As for Microsoft, to me it is standing still. It is a narrow field and I guess it is unfair to compare it with Samsung and apple as they have kind of different perspectives.

It depends on how you measure success :

Innovation  - Apple

Market Share - Samsung

Dominance - Microsoft (non-mobile)

The time that Apple was the undisputed king of the smartphone world seems like a very distant memory today. A number of other competitors have cropped up in recent years, some of which have been extremely successful. Samsung  has especially been doing well, and is by now the world's number one smartphone maker. As for the software side of things, Google's  , Android operating system has also been steadily increasing its market share. Recent numbers from IDC and Gartner suggest that this trend is still very much intact.

Global smartphone sales are still going strong;250 million smartphones were sold in the third quarter, up46% year-over-year

So who's selling all these phones? Samsung is clearly still the dominant player in the industry, maintaining its solid32% market share. While this is flat compared to last year, the company is still easily growing sales, with80 million handsets sold versus55 million last year. So basically, while the company is selling a lot more phones, and is in fact still the largest producer of smartphones, it hasn't significantly gained market share compared to last year.

I agree with Md Shahjahan but for slightly different reasons.

Purely from a device perspective Samsung right now is by far the most successful, they have a product range that caters widely for every kind of user in every demographic, they have taken advantage of good open source software that allows users simple freedom and developers powerful flexibility. On top of all this anyone who set their mind to it can become an Android developer.

Microsoft I think, if they play their cards right will soon be Samsung and Androids biggest threat in the device market, Windows8 allows for a “hyper synergy” between devices, using one account that connects to all your social networks and from a developers perspective you can run your aps on your PC and your mobile, in my opinion that’s a huge plus.

I think Apple has ridden the “super simple” and minimalistic tide for too long meaning that if you use an Apple and you want cross device compatibility all your devices need to be apple, this locks users into a tight spot with little room to move. Increased need for device diversity means that Apple’s demographic is shrinking.

I agtee with Shahjahan because Samsung started with electronic products and then soon it toppled Iphone and Nokia as top brand and this journey was purely on technology war and good marketing techiniques and quality products which caters to all range of market.

Microsoft will be par with Apple  because Microsoft has been again leader and has been upgrading their products timely sometimes some products are very successful like Windows XP and Vista did not do well and now again Windows7 proved to be good product same way Iphone was caught sleeping with a monopoly in market untill Samsung gave it tough competition

Now Apple is pushing themselves in every launch to be better in all products whether its laptops , ipads or I phones.

It is a miss-conception that people have to include Samsung with Apple and Microsoft. Yes Samsung and Apple have a certain level of rivalry when it comes to Mobile Phones. However, Samsung is far out of Apple and Microsoft league. Tomorrow Samsung can easily be right there next to Sony, LG, etc... On the other hand, Microsoft and Apple have something much more powerfull, they do not only have50 years advanced techonolgies that they are keeping away from the public, but they also have customer loyality.
