Never underestimate the power of a simple handshake and verbal appreciation for doing a job well done.
Let them personally know how they are asset to your company this adds a personal touch.
You can send appreciation e-mails and personalize them.
You can also appreciate them openly with certificates of appreciation.
If your company is small enough you can hold a brunch and invite the families and you make your employees the guests of honor.
You can write up press releases about the top notch performances of your employees.
You can hold luncheons in their honor.
There is so much you can do to make each team member feel that they are important.
Words of encouragement and appreciation and pledging your support goes a long way.

The first step is to accept the fact that not everyone is same. thus we have to use our knowledge and experience in understanding people from their point of view. Secondly, if the people belong to different cultural background the culture of acceptance should be imparted in each of the team members to respect each other's culture by making them understand that everyone's contribution is necessary for achieving the goal of the organization. Thirdly each team member should be given the needed attention and feedback so as to make them feel important.
