I've been using Autodesk Revit in my work flow for5 years now. I've a certificate of professional in Revit2014 from Autodesk. We've started Revit implementation in our office & doing a good job at it.
We are extracting all the quantities and materials using the Schedules in Revit.
One important note on this is that your quantities in Revit are going to be as good as your models are. When you have "complete" models you'll be able to get "complete" quantities. At tendering stages probably Navisworks is helping you more. Both applications can work together, furthermore you may involve Excel as well to develop the information further (at any stage).
Revit is great for making BOQ. but not as accurate as Navisworks for example as Navisworks gives you more control for calculating the BOQ.
We have used Revit to make a complete BoQ for two large graving docks, and also did a check of the BoQ, works perfect if you respect the layers and describe your materials complete.
Sir we can easly take Schedules, Quantities within Revit and easly export to Excel
you need to have a good model to be able to use Revit for BOQ
