Some students worry about grade, others need to satisfy a course prerequisite. Still others want to learn and explore ideas. In fact, many students are probably motivated to learn and to succeed by a combination of intrinsic and extrinsic element. The key for us as teachers is to understand what we can do to build student's motivation to learn in our classroom, and to nurture the intrinsic motivation that will guide future learning.
We know that students respond positively to three elements in most classes:
1- A well-organized course
2- A teacher who is enthusiastic about the material and about teaching
3- A teacher who shows he or she cares about the students and their learning.
If teachers do things right, learners would be motivated automaticly.
Bring their attention for the lesson
First of all ,if a teacher wants to get progress in class there must be a link of love and respect between him and the students,to an extent the student must not exceed then dont blame or insult a student if he said something wrong as an answer for a question ,try to show him that he was near to the right answer, if a teacher insults the weak students even the good one will hesitate to answer a question , he will feel fear to make a mistake and get insulted.
The way of team work is very effective and encourages a lot of student even who are lonley or don't want o participate to get gradually in working with other and break the ice of shiness or hesitation to answer.
Workshop is also effective and encourages student to work in pairs or group ,studets can ask each other how to do something that he feel shy to ask his teacher sometimes.
An adivice to teachers who are new in that field ,don't show annoying to any student who answers wrong and always tell him that he is smart but he doesn't use his time in a useful way and he could be better if he manages his time more. thanks a lot.
