To be honest I never chose sales and marketing it chose me as when i came to Bangalore in2002 as a fresher I didnot have any one to guide me to choose a career in which line and as my cousin was in Sales he recommended me jobs which is Sales and I joined as Sales Executive and then the journey was always been telesales, customer care and sales oreiented or marketing strategies oreinted then I chose MBA also in International Marketing as I wanted a global approach.
I like to be a sales maker not a sales taker,i always tried to stay away from sales because i always thought that i wouldn't do well to sell something but when i moved to USA i found out that i can successfully do it and later on it became an easy way for me to make excellent earnings.I like sales because i can control my earnings and i see recognition of my hard working on every pay check..
Been in Sales it gives you an opportunity to meet new people and challenges your own ability to convinse a Buyer. it's a different experience every day. if you succeed, your business development task will become much easier.
