Hub broadcast the signal coming from a port on all ports, so the media is shard all devices connected to hub will work on half duplex.
Switch provide microsegmentation, so the media is not shared and all devices connected to Switch can transmit in full duplex.
Hups in the network is no longer used, or bearly used.
Hubs is broadcast model and switch is a virtual circut model. hub transfer communicate data to all computer, which connected with hub, but switch know the destination where this data communicate. By generating less network traffic in delivering messages, a switch performs better than a hub on busy networks.

Switches and Hubs are often used in the same network; the hubs extend the network by providing more ports, and the switches divide the network into smaller sections.
In a small network (less than30 users), a hub can easily cope with the network traffic generated and is the ideal piece of equipment to use for connecting the users.
When the network gets larger (about50 users), you may need to use a switch to divide the groups of hubs, to cut down the amount of unnecessary traffic being generated.

in case of HUB, you can not transfer file between multiple computers at the same time. But, in case of SWITCH, everyone at a network can transfer file without creating problems to others. So, the Switch is better.
