Dear Ms.

I would for sure.
You need a manager who can relate to his or her reports, and who can get the best out of them while encouraging loyalty and motivation.

Emotional intelligence is very essential requirement for managerial positions also it is not something that you can be easily trained, if he lack it he might have emotional decisions that will impact the organisational performance.

If he/she will be leading a team and has followers, defintely yes, but if this managerial position is not a leader postion, then it won't be as important as it is in the first case.

Emotional Intelligence is not a skill, but rather a considerable attribute and  variable value.

Ought to be considered for managerial and non managerial positions without compromise.

It is a good indicator of practical thinking while responding effectively within a given environment or situation.
