SAP is the best and also very friendly user.
SAP is best specially on inventory module, only thing the cost of installation for SAP is higher. So Large sized companies only can afford. Also modifications/cutomizations can be made in the programming for additional/modified reports.
Also SAP has user friendly interface, whereas Oracle is not that much specially on inventory side.
SAP system is very integrated and its modules cover almost everything a big company, and it has a user-friendly GUI.
I can say first you need to make a good company process auditing and needs before to deside what is the better Oracle or SAP.
SAP as ERP system cover most of the companies needs based on theyr experience, but on the technical side SAP use his own programing language ABAP:ABAP a programing language used to develop RICEFW objects (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Extensions, Forms and Workflows) in SAP.
The T-codes that navigate you in SAP enviroment, Integration on different and configuring all of the system RFCs, building user profiles and also doing the necessary interfacing between the OS (usually Windows or HPUX) and the Oracle Database (currently Enterprise11g).
The Java stack and the netweaver giving the internet access via SAP-Portal whitch also can interface with other SAP and non-SAP legacy systems via Process Integration (PI).
The Business Intelligence Field and accessing the (BW) Business Wharehouse and the new Technology HANA1.0.
SAP Basis and Netweaver used to administrate and develop on top of SAP
Aniway if you dont want to maintain so many modules and diffrent system integration you can aways look in a simple BI solution based on Oracle products.
