i guess if there is an examination period after interviewing the candidates it would make the hire manager mostly sure that the person who applying for the job is capalble or suitable for it.

In an interview phase, yes it is enough, if the proper questions were asked, and the answers from candidate properly analyzied.

as per my experiences at similar situations the very right answer is to agree upon a presetteled period of3 months under observation before concluding an employment contract.. that period most probably would assure weather the interviewer's conclusions upon the interview highlights, and by which that decision of hiring the candidate had been based on, is right & fits his real outcome, proving the interviewer is a real heads' hunter or not. . thanks
