My manager got the ITIL certificate and he just want me to take it just for that, what can you advise here?

every year my upper manager asking me to got the ITIL Certification"write this as a comment in my evaluations sheet" , i knew it is a very Good to take it. but the problem is my manager got the ITIL certificate and he just want me to take it just for that, what u can advise here?

Its best recommended to not take certifications till you know the purpose and importance of it. Otherwise the certification would just be a piece of paper document.

ITIL Certifications are so important now days and also it’s not hard enough to pass. ITIL has5 core areas and you will get overall views and fair understanding of ITIL structure in the Foundation level. I will suggest going for it since you are in the field of Service Management.
