I am not sure I understand the question. It seems to be a question of respect. Well, I never struggled to win the respect. I do my job and if I do it well and if my students like my job, they will exercise respect

Make your lessons more interested and make sure it captures thier interests for you to get thier attention regarding to your lesson.   Honestly, it's quite hard to think on it, but surely it's very effective.... But in addition regarding to this, be cool, and nice to them....

It is human nature to want to be liked, but it is your character that will determine your popularity. Teach your pupils well and you will earn their respect, if they don't like you don't worry as long as you are true to yourself and your own values and personal standards. On a personal level I have always tried to treat people the way that I would like to be treated myself and then I let everything else run it's course!!!
