According to one article, "Each World Expo is a catalyst for economic, cultural and social transformation and generates important legacies for the host city and nation. For instance, Shanghai2010 World Expo helped transform a heavily industrial city-centre area into a thriving cultural and commercial district while also bringing its them.e “Better City, Better Life” to the attention of73 million people." (World Expos, http://expo2020dubai.ae/en/world_expos). EXPOs generally attract millions of foreign visitors to the host country so Dubai can expect an influx of visitors. As such, it's expected that at least during the EXPO, business will thrive. Increased sales are expected during that time and since many people want to take advantage of the economic boom, therefore many people are eager to start businesses in Dubai. This has a cyclical effect on the economic conditions. A lot of people may try to come to Dubai to start business here and that increases demand for personal as well as business goods. Demand for housing is also increased, causing an increase in building and an increase in rents. The influx of visitors coming to Dubai during the EXPO will also affect the availability of hotels and housing and cause an increase in both construction activities and rents. Furthermore, current businesses will increase output and production to take advantage of the increased demand. This will cause an increase in labor demand (more jobs will be available) and unemployment rates will go down. Salaries may also go up, including salaries of current employees. Because employees will earn more, they will also spend more, causing a further increase in overall demand and the economic boom cycle will continue. Overall, living conditions and the standard of living should improve before and during the EXPO and hopefully continue afterward as well. http:/w.facebook.com/radeya.biz Do you agree? Definitely the expo will be a major boost to Dubai. The World Trade Show is considered as the largest trade shows known on earth. The last Expo in Shanghai involved192 countries and50 international organizations. It is projected that the UAE economy will see over AED140 billion in revenue and the creation of over250,000 jobs.73 million people visited the last world expo in Shanghai.25 million expected for Dubai.
World Trade Show have also pivotal role in the infrastructural development of host nations and cities and the most important and strategic benefit will be the long term legacy effect of the expo on the UAE economy.
The hotel and logistics sectors will be the biggest winners while the residential and retail sectors will also benefit.
But the big question is what will happen after the World Trade Show is over with the additional infrastructure in place? The hotels for the visitors and200,000 extra accommodations for the workers and the taxis etc.? The rent that have shot up?
Well as we say, without risk there is no benefit and you cannot have the butter and the money of the butter at the same time. All the best Dubai.
every people has own way of looking to expo whether it is nationally or internationally. But if we see business point of view it will be an extraordinary increase in each an every aspect. In a common language millions of people coming to one place and staying, hotelling, shopping, meeting etc means business. In a single line expo means growth.
yes definitely it will improve the standard of living as they are having good opporunity to increase the eployment in the society
