Job satisfaction is something that the employee gets on a day to day by investing his or her time and skill, whereas career development is an investment in the employees longevity made by management and corporate planning. By remaining aware of an employee’s goals and ambitions, management can properly invest in career paths, which ultimately adds to employee satisfaction, peak performance, and longevity.
I believe they are related.
When someone is satisfied wid his/her job it means he/she is enjoying their work and they will focus on it automatically there will be career development.
Job satisfaction would be you are happy doing some job which you have taken up . Some people keep changing jobs and there is no focus such people never enjoy any job or get satisfied. They are not serious on their career path so end up doing same jobs at various part of life just by changing companies. Others want to climb ladders and want to go up in career path thats career growth.
Generaly we refere to : " love what you do for doing it well " . this is the essential ralation

I see that this depends on the people. For some people career development is part of thier satisfaction. This will usually be the case for people in higher positions. For people starting thier working life this might not be the case. They might be satisfied by other critera and that is normal, I think.
