How do you re-energize your sales team?

There are two main sides/dynamics to re-energize your sales team.

1 is the Mindset of the Sales team and 2 is Sales approaches & modus operandi

The mindset of the sales team has a direct impact on the productivity and has to be set right. Look after your employees and they will look after the company, as simple as this.

Keep employees feeling their work is more than a job through regular job valorization programs as company retreat programs, workshops, continuous training, brainstorming sessions, benchmarking, free lunches, strict equal opportunity, and moral support and help them to develop positive attitude.

Celebrate creatively achievements through incentives, bonus, Salesman of the month and Salesman of the year awards in annual dinners and recognizes them publicly and ensures good media coverage of top achievers through company newsletter, Facebook page, Tweets and other social media.

Go for great CSR – It makes employees proud of their company and brands and gives them a sense of loyalty and belonging.

Re-energizing your sales:

Understand your customer – Who they are? What they buy? Why they buy? And why they choose to buy from you? Get direct feedback from customers through your sales team.

Freshen up your R & D - products, your website, and your marketing tools regularly.

Go for special promotions – coupons – online coupons – loyalty cards – Focus on creativity – new ideas and innovations in terms of promotion- Discounting and gifts are great incentives that works

Retention campaigns: believe in it: regular emails, direct mail promotions of above special promotions targeted at your entire customer database.

Improve your customer service and customer care continuously – go the extra mile –

it pays100 %

 

And again go for great Corporate Social Responsibility: Show you are good, moral and ethics is gaining more and more in business and earn appreciation from customers that lead to sales

Salesman indeed play a pivotal role in surging revenues, its indeed essential to keep them ongoing, I think the following things can contrbite towards re-energizing them:

1. Individual as well as group training programmes need to be conducted.

2.Apart from the conventional commission system,offer them gift coupons/shopping vouchers on successful attainment of targets.

3.  You cannot always expect sales to move up, so even at times of downfalls don't stop motivation.

4. Atleast twice a year organize a good dinner party.

This is a very good question.

I understand it is very importyant to rejuvenate the team time and again to increase their productuvity. 

A very simple way of doing the same would be a day's outing with the team / Lunch or Dinner, whichever is feasibile. 

On the same hand we should also make sure that during this party or outing there is no discussion about business, sales targets etc.

Set a meeting know what are their needs and their problems. Think together of how to overcome the problems. You can switch their clients so that there will be new blood in the channels. Give them appraisals, better commission, benefits... Not all at once but at least try to satisfy their needs.

There is one thing in mind before any step throughly discuss as a collegue not boss. Leave before and future sales number. Go for present as a new fresh sales team as positive attitude, try new things which your team or indivisual not done before...
