The problems we now face are indicative of today's society in general. A lack of "standards" and old fashioned values unfortunately some of this stems from a lack of guidance or parental authority. I was always brought up to respect my elders and I held Policemen, Teachers and other professionals in "awe", I wouldn't have dreamt of being rude or answering them back as I knew that if they didn't punish me, my parents would!! Sometimes both!!!! I don't advocate going back to the "good old days" as sometimes they weren't actually that good! However there is still room in this day and age for the application of some of the standards of yesteryear, discipline. respect for others, morals etc. I use the word "discipline" in it's truest form, "conforming to a set of rules and regulations" and not "hitting with a big stick"!!!!!!!!!
